Carols in the Park

On Sunday the 5th December, we are holding our Christmas event! 'Carols in the Park' is aimed at getting the whole community along for a christmas sing song and to get the Christmas spirit started. The park is there for everyone and what better way to kick off the festive season than bringing local people together.

Music will be provided from Tydesley brass band and the choir will be on hand from 3 to lead the singing.

Hot mince pies and pasties are available and then we will finish off wit a chinese lantern launch!

please come and support us, hope to see you there.

Local artist Alan Owen has recently produced this painting of the park's 'bandstand', which we are sure you will recognise. Less recognisable will be the pond behind the bandstand, it's immaculate appearance comes courtesy of Alan's artistic licence rather than any recent work!

Thank you planters!!

Thanks to everyone who turned out to help with the 'Planting in the Park' day. The weather was fabtastic and with the help of 'the friends', the local community and members of the youth offending team, we manged to get 5000 bulbs planted.
It's amazing what you can do when you set your mind to it and as well as the bulbs we managed to collect 14 bags of rubbish after a complete litter sweep.
We can't wair for spring now when the bulbs sprout and give the park a well needed splash of colour.
Looking forward now to 'Carols in the Park' on the 5th December.
